Barley John’s Brewing Company
Barley John’s Brewing is a brewer owned and operated brewery and taproom, with roots in a Minnesota Brewpub where demand outgrew capacity.
It all started when Laura asked John, who was an enthusiastic home brewer, why there weren’t brunette ales. She’d seen brown ales, red ales, and even blonde ales, but never a brunette ale. With that spark, John developed his signature wild rice brown ale, the Wild Brunette. Before long, he had to expand his home brew setup because friends were drinking all his beer, eventually opening a beloved neighborhood brewpub. When demand there outgrew supply, the full brewery and taproom in Wisconsin was the next logical step.
Barley John’s Brewing produces four year-round beers, Little Barley (Session Ale), 6 Knot (IPA), Old 8 (Porter), and Wild Brunette (Wild Rice Brown Ale).
Barley John’s has recently come back to the Craftapped Program (Jan 19) as a BOGO partner.
